Who is IOSH ?

IOSH are the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health
(IOSH), the Chartered body for health and safety professionals. Founded in
1945, with a simple vision – a safe and healthy world of work for everyone.

As an occupational safety specialist, what are your
thoughts on occupational safety and accidents

in the workplace, Mr. Muhlis Sahin?

Occupational health and safety is about actively reducing the risk of accidents
and ill health through thoughtful assessment and hazard analysis. By thoroughly

considering potential dangers and implementing appropriate controls, we can

come to work healthy every day and return home safely to our families—without

accidents or occupational diseases. This is achievable when everyone follows

the rules, engages in proactive prevention, and regularly trains and instructs

employees. Regular site inspections help identify sources of danger, which we

promptly mitigate in line with the hierarchy of protective measures. Continuous

communication with the company and frequent safety meetings keep safety top of

mind. Periodic inspections of all equipment by qualified persons, as required

by accident prevention, ensure that assets are safe and reliable.

Which jobs are dangerous for you, Mr. Sahin?

a lot of but some jobs are actually very dangerous.
Here is my Point of view as a EHS Manager

    • Working
      at height
    • Working
      in confined spaces
    • Working
on electrical installations (electric shocks, arcs)
    • Working
with heavy machinery (machinery accidents, crush and pinching hazards)
    • Fall-prone
      activities (scaffolding, roof work)
    • Working
in tunnels and underground (air, gases, collapse hazards)
    • Exposure
      to pesticides and chemicals
    • Working
in hot or oppressive environments (heat, fumes, irritants)
    • Handling
and loading operations (traffic accidents, manual handling)
    • Working
in areas with dust or explosion hazards (gas, dust explosions)

Can you please tell me the magic word for your success, Mr.
    Muhlis Sahin?

of course. It`s very simple. Actually it`s a piece of cake.
Communication is my recipe for success.
